Our 20 year reunion will be taken care of my Holly P VanOrden and Amy H Gleave. Thanks guys!
Hey Guys,
We now have five children instead of four. We have four boys and 1 girl. My oldest boys, Corben and Cason are now 11 and now are losing their little boy look. I am having a hard time because they are at the "mom, no kissing" stage. So we have an agreement I won't give them kisses or hug them at the bus stop and they will give me one before they leave the house. Also they keep reminding me that in 5 years they get to start driving. AHHHHH!!! (If any of you have kids that are getting ready to drive or driving, give me some tips.) I'm so not ready for that. Right now we are into baseball with all four boys, so they keep my taxi going. Kasherri, our only daughter is turning 9 in May. We are already having boys giving her little treats and telling her they love her. You could say that I'm not ready for that one either!! She is my little angel!! She is alot like me and loves gymnastics and is always doing a back hand spring anywhere she can find a place to. Bryant is our 6 year old. He turns 7 soon, but he is tall for a boy his age. He is as tall as my daughter, and people always ask me if I have two sets of twins. He is in 1st grade. He loves bikes, and has ever since he was a year old. My latest addition is Skyler. His is 3 years old and a joy. I keep telling him not to grow up too fast on me. But, since we moved to Riverton (when he was a year and a half) he's been trying to get on the school bus with all the rest of my kids. He puts his backpack in line and everything. I have to be careful because if there was any way he could get on that bus he would. He just doesn't want to be left behind. He is also my one that doesn't have to say a word, because it's written all over his expression.
So that in a nut shell is what I've been up to. Just being a mom and hanging out having fun teaching 3-5 year olds. I'm sorry that I missed the reunion. Take care!! And we'll see ya is 5 years, -k-!!!
Wow kids (come on, indulge me - surely we can still think of ourselves as kids, right?) it's hard to believe it's been 15 years since I saw you all. So here's the abbreviated version of what happened to me: After graduation I moved to SLC to attend UofU, majoring in Art History and French. After two years there I transferred to a school in France for a year. I was at the Université de Haute Bretagne in Rennes (about an hour west of Paris), studying Art History,French and Russian (word to the wise - studying a foreign language in a foreign language? I don't recommend it.) I absolutely loved France - if I could have figured out a way to stay, trust me, I'd still be there. It was a great year - I loved the school, but I also loved the opportunity to travel - I spent time in London, Amsterdam, Brussels, all over France, I even spent some time in Istanbul. But reality intervened and I had to return to the U in order to graduate. So I spent another year in Salt Lake, finishing up school, and working at Phillips Gallery (the biggest art gallery in the city).
Wow, it is so much fun to read about everyone’s lives and what you all have been doing the last 15 years. Here’s some of our story…..
Our second child, Landon, was born in August of 2005 and is a very energetic 3 ½ year old! He is always smiling and happy and is always ready to work on a project or have someone play cranes, farms, or horses with him! He is all boy and loves to jump, climb, wrestle, hang on things, ride bikes and scooters, and eat! His Grandma gave him Wranglers and cowboy boots for his birthday and he literally wore holes in the heels of his boots because he had to wear them everywhere. Someday we hope to be able to have a place to keep a horse and a few other animals for him to take care of. He has been my little shadow this past year and really misses his sister when she is at school, but he is very excited to start pre-kindergarten in August and go to school just like Kaitlyn.
We moved to Gainesville, Florida (Home of the University of Florida and the mighty Gators!!) last summer and will be here for at least 3 more years, maybe more if we like it! Brad is doing his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Florida, so most of his days (and many nights) are spent at Shands Hospital here in Gainesville while he gets all of his specialized training in anesthesia. If he has any spare time, he likes to go biking, work on our cars, tinker with his tools in the garage, read, and sleep. As for me, I have taken almost a year off work, which has been very enjoyable, but also a big adjustment. Once Kaitlyn was born, I cut back to part time and worked for Albertson’s and Target Pharmacies until we moved to Florida. I just got my Florida Pharmacist License a few weeks ago and plan on working a few days a month just to keep up on all the latest drug info in the pharmacy world. I love being a pharmacist and educating people on all their medications and it has been the perfect job as far as flexibility and hours for what we have needed for our family over the years. We are expecting our third child in July – a little girl!! So we are all really excited about that and I think working will be very part time for me until our baby gets a little older. I love being home with my kids every day and doing all sorts of activities with them. Living in Florida there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, so we spend a lot of time swimming, riding bikes, going to parks, exploring new pools, beaches, and springs, and just soaking up all the sun here in the Sunshine State!! I also like to spend time in the kitchen trying new recipes and baking anything, canning fruits, dutch oven cooking, and gardening (although I haven’t figured out how you grow things in sand yet!) We are really enjoying life here in Florida, especially the winters. On Christmas day we were all outside riding bikes in shorts and t-shirts – it was great fun!! There are tons of things to do and see here and we want to take advantage of all that we can while we are here. So far we’ve gone to DisneyWorld, SeaWorld, the Bahamas, Clearwater, Jacksonville, & Cocoa Beaches (to name just a few), the Kennedy Space Center, springs, rivers, national forests, and fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. I think our favorite part about living in Florida is the trees and greenery literally everywhere you look, along with the great weather (except for 3 very hot and humid months during the middle of summer). We do miss the mountains and our families, but we are very happy for the opportunity to live outside Utah for a few years. We wish we both would have been able to come to the class reunion and visit with all of you, hopefully we’ll catch you all at the 20 year reunion! Thanks to Rachel and Amber for creating this blog so we could all keep in touch!
oh geez... i can't remember what happened yesterday let alone what's gone on for the last 15 years!! i'll do my best. after high school i attended dixie college, waited tables at pizza hut, taught piano lessons, participated in the college choirs where i sang and accompanied, was a member of the dixie college piano ensemble and played intramural sports. that was probably when i got involved in city league volleyball too. me and some choir friends started an accapella group called the earthtones. we thought we were pretty cool. we sang for little gigs here and there, tried to make a little money but it seemed to fizzle out when everyone graduated and got married. my once jr. prom date who became my 'steady' boyfriend was building bridges in vernal when he decided he wanted to follow me to utah's dixie before i found a man with a tan! =C) after i graduated in 1995 we were married. i attended dixie for another year through suu to start my degree in teaching. i still participated in the choirs and worked for the music department that year and also became a mary kay consultant. i also found my love for crafting (hey it was the thing at the time) and decorating and always found some craft fair or boutique to sell things at. that summer was the first summer that i had never waited tables and instead i got a job with my friend lifeguarding in mesquite. it was so fun! i made some great friends and traveled alot, always finding time for a ski trip to powell. the next year i made the haul to cedar city, commuting every day while robby worked construction in st george. i attended suu where i studied phys ed with an emphasis in coaching and minored in psychology (i know, how marketable is that???) . we found out we were expecting our first baby in september. i was the assistant volleyball coach at hurricane high and had camps to keep me busy through the summer. oh and speaking of summer, two things that don't mix, pregnancy and st george summer! and if that isn't bad enough she came 12 days late. stefani was born in 1997. i would load her up, head to cedar for classes head to hurricane on the way home for practice and hoped that i would somehow find time for homework, husband and homemaking! oh and mary kay. this went on for a couple years, i think stefani had more miles on her by the age of 2 than some kids get there whole life! then we decided we would give living in cedar a try. robby commuted this time. needless to say that only lasted about 9 months. as i was finishing up with classes, i arranged it so that i could go to st george with him on tuesdays for mary kay meetings. (umm yah, another duh moment)! that year i applied for janice tolberts job at wayne middle to be the phys ed teacher. obviously i didn't get it, which was at the time heart wrenching, but i didn't realize what the lord had in store for me. i thought this would be my chance to move home and raise my family with the same opportunities that i had growing up, but little did i know what other opportunities were waiting. i became friends with another mary kayer who's family owned a holiday store in st george. she offered me a job on the days i would go to st george and then we would go to mary kay. eventually robby and stefani and i moved back to st george and this job became what i thought would be my dream career, and it was at the time. i worked as a designer and buyer, it had lots of perks. they flew me to s.l.c.and to west yellowstone to open new stores and decorate for the holidays. i also got the opportunity to go to markets from dallas to l.a. to buy inventory for the new seasons. LOVED IT!!! unfortunately retail took a plunge when the big guys came to town (target, walmart etc...) and ran the mom and pop stores out. it was sad but i was able to land accounts with clients who i still decorate for and i also got involved with the dixie regional medical center's jubilee of trees. i have now been doing that for 7 years? i think. it's pretty rewarding. i design a tree each year that is auctioned off and the proceeds go to the n.i.c.u. at dixie regional.
since being back in st george, robby has finished his contractors license building custom homes, playing softball a little basketball, and staying involved in church callings. he still helps his dad run cows and there is always time to go on the elk or deer hunt. we hope to get to alaska this summer. after a few years of trying to have more children (more like 6; years not children that is) we finally had a bouncing baby boy. and that he definitely has been! mason randy was born in march of 2004 and has kept us busy ever since! i have still taught piano through the years, we finally built us a new home (boy i'll tell ya, there is some truth to the cobblers kids who never have shoes!) and decorating has taken on a whole new level now. i still craft and have a holiday show every year (12 years this year) in hanksville over thanksgiving weekend. through the years i have played volleyball here and there, used to be city league, then it was 2 on 2 tournaments. and the last time was summer games. then we had scotlyn reay in february of 2007. as for coaching, it has actually served me well in other areas in my life (including mom the referee). it has helped me to grow my mary kay business, i have a great gift service, i have earned 2 free cars and i am working on the 3rd. i promoted to the position of sales director which was a great experience for about 2 1/2 years. i have stayed involved in different callings in the church, the last few years primary, and lately president. (amber, we need to talk!) but with all my irons in the fire, i stepped down from sales director to keep my sanity. i feel like a jack of all trades but a master at none. and i finally decided it is my small town curse. because i was able to do everything i wanted to do in high school, i still want to do everything now, and man i just can't keep up. i still don't know what i want to be when i grow up. however this last fall i was offered an opportunity at a prestigous performing arts studio in the area. i accompany the advanced levels of ballet pointe classes. the pay is great and the hours are even better. i don't even consider it a job. it is truly my therapy! to sit behind the piano for a couple hours each day and get paid for it is my little piece of heaven on earth! luckily among all of the odd jobs through the years the best part of my crazy life is that i have found a way to always be home with my kids! our children are the light of our life. stef is now in 4th grade, loves school, loves to cook, dance and ride horses. she's quite the toughy on those cold deer hunts. me and her dad are trying to make a ball player out of her but i don't know, she's quite the dancer. mason is finally old enough to play t ball. he is a natural, he's been riding a scooter since he was about 18 months or so and has quite the foul shot, and by the age of 4 he already has a driving record like his mom, taking the durango through the neighbors yard and rolling the dodge pickup down the driveway over the stop sign. uugghh!! scotlyn is just a happy baby. she is the laziest of the 3 though. she barely crawled by the age of one and is still not walking at 14 months! oh well, we'll keep her the baby as long as we can. even though life is good, with good friends, jobs, great kids and opportunities, our small town hearts keep us wondering if we'll ever 'make it back' to the place that we still call home! who knows what the next 15 will bring??
Hi Guys....how is everyone? Well..as for me the past 15 years have been pretty good......
I started my own little business in elderly care and have loved doing that for the past 10 years... I have been blessed to get to know the sweetest people. I took care of a lady for 8 years.. last fall she turned 100 and she is truly amazing.
In August 2002 my beautiful daughter MaKinleigh was born, ( I was with her dad for 9 years but that didn't work out... live and learn huh, guess I will have to keep kissing frogs till I find my prince, lol!! just kiddin') Anyway.. I don't know where my life would be without her. She is little miss smarty pants and so animated about life! She is constantly singing and dancing. She is in kindergarten, loves school, and gets along with everyone. What a sweet tender spirit she has, and alot of spunk too. Everywhere we go she draws attention from people, now I'm really a paranoid mom.. lol..!
Two years ago I moved to the east bench in Salt Lake City. I live with a wealthy man and his wife, as their private nurse in their big, beautiful home (with a great view of the whole salt lake valley). They both have diabetes, and mild dementia, so I give them their shots several times a day, medication and basic help with everyday living. The hours are very flexible and I get to be here with Maki all the time so it works out very, very well. I am lucky and really enjoy it.(most days:) )
Last Sept., my mom passed away very suddenly, and I have had the hardest time accepting not having her here and talking to her everyday. This has been the worst trial for me to overcome and get through, slowly but surely it will get better. :) (that is what people tell me) Thank goodness for family and friends, they help me keep it together.
In my spare time I love to scrapbook and do a little photography. The gentleman that I take care of had a scrapbook studio built for me here in his house. I wish I could spend 24\7 in there, it is so nice to be organized and have everything right at my fingertips. I have made lots of page layouts, I make hair bows, and flower clippies that I sell too. Along with other crafts that I can come up with. It's my passion right now, I love that room it just makes me happy. MaKinleigh will come in and we spend hours in there doing projects and she will think up the cutest things, its so much fun to see her creativity!
It's really great to go back to Wayne County and enjoy the outdoors and just chill .... what a awesome place to grow up and call home. Hope to see you all soon...!!!
Holly and MaKinleigh

We lived in Loa for 8 years where I ran a home-based daycare for four years and Jason worked for State Stone, in Torrey. After four years of daycare, I began working for the school district in the developmental preschool. After a year of this, I was moved to the middle school to work with a special education student one-on-one. I was then able to move on to high school with her when she went (Jason used to give me a hard time about receiving a second diploma). I worked at the high school for four years and this past year moved to the elementary as a math paraprofessional. I love working with kids and helping them learn. It has been great! When I started working for the school district, I decided I would start going to school to get my teaching certificate.
I started with Utah State through the extension service, but then switched to an online college. It is much easier to go to school online, especially when I work and take care of my family. Western Governer's University is great and I am about finished with my degree. I am just finishing up my student teaching in the fifth grade this year, and I love it. I soon hope to be able to teach full time. In the summer and some weekends in the spring and fall, I work at the Torrey Bed & Breakfast, where I go in and cook breakfast for the guests. Since I love to cook, this is something that I totally enjoy doing. It is more a hobby than a job!
I have also bought my own vinyl cutter so I can run a small home business in my spare time!! I have been very busy with this, making signs for many menu boards throught the count, as well as Capitol Reef. I have also provided the vinyl for a few Relief Society HFPE nights. This has been great fun and I really enjoy doing it. So does my daughter, Brielle. She is a big help and loves to help me get it ready to go.
Jason has been really patient with all of my "issues" such as school, work, and relief society nights. He started working for my dad and brother in their construction business about three years ago, so it is easy for him to help me out, because I know his boss really well! Our two children also keep us really busy. Hagan is most definately his father's child. He loves to spend as much time hunting and fishing as possible. He has been doing both with his dad since he could walk (fishing poles for christmas were a must). He is happiest when he is able to do either of these things, yet he is still a great student in school. He works for my dad every summer and has been able to buy his own archery equipment and pay for his own hunting licenses (which is good because he likes to hunt everything). He also loves to wrestle. He has been involved with bantam since he was in preschool. Lately, he has wrestled for the middle school wrestling team and can't wait to wrestle at the high school level.
Brielle is also her father's child. She also loves to spend time fishing and hunting. Forget Barbie Dolls and make-up. She was happier with a BB gun and a bow and arrows. Brielle also loves to sing and play the piano. She has been singing and playing the piano since she was four years old and has loved it. Lately, she has given up the piano due to the fact that her fingers were always hurting. Two years ago, she was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. It has been more difficult for me to accept than for her. She has such a great personality and attitude that she just continues to barrel through life at full speed. She also loves to play softball and has learned to make adjustments so she can do this. Her independence and determination have helped her alot. Just two weeks ago, she was diagnosed with OsteochondritiesDissecans, a condition in which a part of her femur bone and cartlidge have lost their blood supply and is dying. She is in a wheelchair for the next 6weeks, at least. However, she still endures the pain and tries to stay upbeat. The only thing she hates is that she can't do everything for herself anymore. She can't stand the extra help she requires from others because she thinks she should just do it herself. Talk about stubborn. :)
In our spare time, our family loves to go hunting and fishing (of course). We are also huge NASCAR fans. You can always find us home when there is a race on TV. The only thing that preempts this is hunting season. Since we moved to Teasdale 5 years ago, we will not have too far to travel to see everyone at the reunion.
Didn't we just have a reunion? I can't believe it's been 15 years since we graduated! The past five years have flown by and brought many changes for us. I am still in Fremont working for Jeffery Ranches and living my dream of being a full-time cowboy. But that's about all that hasn't changed. We now have two kids that keep us very busy and laughing every day.
Kurtis, age 7, is a sociable, happy-go-lucky first grader. He loves school, especially recess, and has many friends. He enjoys participating in baseball, wrestling, ranching/farming, and just got a new motorcycle. He is my "right-hand-man" these days and aspires to be as tough as his dad! He is excited to be getting baptized this fall.
Katie, age 4, has a personality all her own. She is very hyper and spunky. She goes from a dainty princess in crown and gown to indestructable super-hero in a matter of seconds. She is stubborn and independent, rarely doing anything that isn't her idea. It's a good thing she's so darn cute and resorts to sweetness periodically! She always has a hug for dad and has me wrapped around her little finger (although I'd never admit it to her.)
Since our last reunion, we decided to have my wife, Christy, go back to school to be an x-ray technologist. The past three years have been a blur of juggling chores, kids, classes, and deadlines. Her x-ray program is through Weber State and Sevier Valley Hospital. She spends three days a week doing clinical hours in Richfield and travels to Ogden for class a few times each semester. She is just about done with the x-ray program, but will be specializing in Nuclear Medicine in the fall (which means another year of school). Christy has been offered a job at the hospital in Richfield and is finally getting paid!!! She also spent a few years serving in the Young Women's Presidency in our ward, and then in the Stake Primary Presidency.
I am "Mr. Mom" while Christy is away and have become way too familiar with our kitchen! And if life wasn't busy enough with ranching and taking care of the kids, I have also become the Wayne County Mosquito Sprayer during the summer. I still enjoy hunting, fishing, riding horses, working cows, and pretty much anything that takes me up to the mountains or out to the desert. I finally had my turn at the big bull elk hunt, and bagged a nice six-point bull in Sheep Valley. My wife and I are NASCAR fans, have taken up golfing, and hope to get a vacation in when she gets done with school. I have also coached Little League and Bantam Wrestling. My all time favorite passtime is spending time with my kids and sharing my love of ranching and the great outdoors with them! I really enjoy being a dad and looking at the world through their eyes. I am excited for the next few years of ballgames, school programs, and all of their activities. In spite of our crazy life and all the sacrifices, we enjoy our family and look forward to what the future will bring. Well, I guess we'll catch ya'll in five more....

WOW has 15 years gone by in a hurry!! One thing is certain, during the past 15 years I have made sure to fill every minute with something. After I graduated, John and I were married in August. We lived in Ephraim and went to Snow College. We were only there for 6 months when we moved to Richfield. I continued my education at Snow College while John went to Salt Lake to attend Police Officers Standards and Training. (POST) Once he finished his training we moved to Hanksville where he worked for Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and I gave birth to our first son Kyle John Hunt. In May of 1994 we moved to Bullfrog and John worked for Kane County Sheriff’s Office. We were there for 6 months and off to Big Water, Utah we went. (If you haven’t been there, don’t make a special trip!!) I was excited to leave there. We were able to get a job back home and in March of 1995 we moved to Bicknell. We lived in Bicknell for 8 years where our second son Nathan Daniel Hunt (1996) and our third son Shayler James Hunt (2001) were born. During this time I worked for Utah Division of Wildlife Resources as a wildlife technician, part-time and Aspen Achievement Academy full-time as a field medic. I have been an E.M.T-Intermediate for 13 years. I enjoy working on the county ambulance and teaching CPR, First Aid, First Responder and EMT classes. I work with the Utah Department of Health in designing Responder testing and curriculum. I teach at least 1 class each month and most of the time many more. (It has turned out to be a great side job) In May of 2003 we decided to move to Aurora, Utah. Shortly after we moved here, we were expecting our 4th son. During my sixth month of pregnancy I had some complications and our baby boy was born dead. This was the hardest and continues to be one of the hardest things I have had to accept. I struggled with this for many months and then as if by a miracle in 2005 our fifth son Jameson T. Hunt was born. John works for Sevier County Sheriff’s Office. He is the Emergency Management Director for Sevier County. Since we have moved to Aurora, I have worked full time for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. I enjoy my job! I love being outdoors and especially up in the mountains. I love what I have learned and continue to learn about wildlife, habitat and how it all works together. I am currently going to school at SUU, to obtain a bachelor degree in zoology. In August of 2006 I purchased a second home in Aurora (where my grandmother is currently living). She is a brittle diabetic and has several health issues. I spend a lot of time caring for her but, I am more than happy to do that. I also have a calling in the primary presidency in our ward. I continue to work on the county ambulance and teach my classes. I also have a home based wholesale food business. This takes up the time between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m.
In August of this year John and I will celebrate our 16th anniversary! I have been very blessed in my life, I have 4 energetic boys and a kind loving husband. We love spending time together. We enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, riding 4-wheelers, traveling and working together. We have a small farm and we love to be involved in the annual 4-H stock show where we show prized lambs. My boys are my life! Kyle (14) will be in high school this fall. Nathan (12) will be in 7th grade. Shayler (7) will be in 2nd grade and Jameson (3) will be in preschool. John can retire with a public safety retirement in 4 years. My how the years have flown! I have a great job. I’ve had some cherished experiences. I have many inspirational friends and I hope to have another exceptional 15+ years.

Here is what I've been up to for the last 15 years:

I keep myself busy with yard work, doing the normal household jobs that we all have to do, quilting - I wish I could do it every day all day, doing Enrichment activities for church, blogging (hate to admit that one), and taking little trips with my family. We have a nice little life and things are so fun and exciting with a few good kids thrown into the mix.
