Yep, Alisha was. In the past I think it had always been the 'outstanding athlete award' was always given to a senior, but since Alisha did so well that year, better than any other athlete at our school, they gave an 'outstanding senior athlete' and 'outstanding athlete of the year' award when we were juniors. Good job Alisha!

Reunion Recipes
A lot of people at the reunion asked for the recipes of the food we ate. So here they are:
For the chicken Kabobs, I just marinaded them in Italian salad dressing.
Honey Grilled Shrimp 1/2 tsp garlic salt 1/4 tbsp ground black pepper 1/3 cup Worchestershire sauce 2 tbsp Italian salad dressing 1 lb shrimp, peeled diced vegetables of choice 1/4 cup honey 1/4 cup melted butter 2 tbsp Worchestershire sauce
In a large bowl, mix garlic, pepper, 1/3 cup Worchestershire sauce, and salad dressing. Add shrimp and vegetables and toss to coat. Marinate from 1 hour to overnight.
Preheat the grill for high heat. Thread shrimp and veggies on skewers and discard marinade.
In a small bowl, mix honey, butter, and remaining Worchestershire sauce. Set aside for basting.
Lightly oil grill grate. Grill kabobs for 2-3 minutes or until shrimp are pink and opaque. Baste occasionally with honey-butter sauce while grilling.
Rotel Dip
2 cans mexican rotel tomatoes, drained 6 roma tomatoes, diced 1 small onion diced 6 avocados, diced 1 bunch cilantro, washed and chopped garlic salt to taste 1 1/2 cups mayo
Mix all together and chill for at least 1 hour. Serve with tortilla chips.
Spinach Salad 1 head romaine lettuce 2 bags spinach 1 lb swiss cheese, grated 1 pkg bacon, cooked and crumbled 1 cup slivered almonds, toasted 1 lb cottage cheese Dressing: 3/4 cup vinegar 3/4 cup oil 3/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 tsp dry mustard 1 1/2 tbsp poppy seeds 1/4 - 1/2 purple onion
Just before serving, toss salad ingredients in a large bowl until well mixed.
For dressing, blend until smooth and serve with salad. You can serve mixed into the salad or on the side.
Sunshine Jello Salad 1 large box of cook and serve lemon pudding 1 small box instant lemon pudding 1 small box orange jello 1 cup milk 1 tub cool whip
Bottom layer: Make cook and serve pudding according to package directions. (I usually use the microwave version) Meanwhile, mix the orange jello crystals with 1 cup boiling water. Mix until dissolved. Stir jello water into hot pudding until the two are mixed well. Pour into a 9x13 glass pan.
Top Layer: Whip together instant pudding mix and milk. Then fold in cool whip. Smooth over bottom layer. Garnish with mandrain oranges and mint leaves if desired.
Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle 2 pints strawberries, sliced 1 cup sugar, divided 2- 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened 3 tbsp orange juice 3 cups heavy cream, whipped 1 loaf pound cake, cubed (see recipe below) strawberries and chocolate curls for garnish if desired
Toss strawberries with 1/2 cup sugar. Beat cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, and juice until smooth. Fold in whipped cream. Place half of cake cubes in glass bowl. Top with 1/3 cream cheese mixture and 1/2 of strawberries. Repeat layers. Top with last 1/3 of cream cheese mixture. Garnish with berries and chocolate curls if desired.
Economical Pound Cake 2/3 cup shortening 1 1/4 cups sugar 2/3 cup milk 1 tsp vanilla 2 cups flour 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking powder 3 eggs
Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Blend in milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Beat well and pour into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 300F for about 90 minutes.
